Fanny Packs, Crossbody Bags and Backpacks

Our bags are made from hemp and cotton, many featuring handwoven ethnic patterns. They are more durable than most fabric bags and look better over the years rather than worse – hemp becomes softer instead of wearing out.

Which bag for what?

1. Fanny pack: also called a belt bag. Everything stays on your body and nothing slips around. The safest option at festivals, while dancing and when traveling.
2. Crossbody bag: for everyday use when you need to carry more than just your phone and wallet.
3. Backpack: for longer journeys, hikes and multi-day trips.
4. Drawstring bag: lightweight, foldable and ideal for spontaneous outings.

The Festival Fanny Pack

If you get just one thing right, make it this. Your phone, cash, ticket and ID need to stay on your body – a backpack ends up in the grass while dancing and eventually disappears.

What to look for:

1. Zipper, not a magnetic closure – it can open when you jump.
2. Wide, adjustable strap, so it also fits over your jacket.
3. Durable material – hemp can withstand significantly more than thin nylon.
4. Multiple compartments, so you do not have to take everything out every time you reach inside.

Why hemp?

Hemp fibers are among the most durable natural fibers of all. For bags, this means they withstand more than cotton, repel dirt better and absorb hardly any odors. The plant also requires little water to grow and usually thrives without pesticides. Find out more at Hemp Clothing.

The patterns

Many bags feature handwoven borders made by Hilltribe peoples from northern Thailand or embroidered details. Each piece therefore looks slightly different – the patterns are made by hand, not printed. Learn more about the origin of the fabrics at Ethnic Clothing.

Care

Do not put them in the washing machine. Brush off coarse dirt when dry; treat stains with a damp cloth and a little soap. Air-dry them, not on a radiator.
