On the Hemp Field

For over 2 years we have been proud hemp farmers. We work closely with Hmong Tribe (an ethnic minority in Thailand) to grow our hemp ethically; following the strict textile regulations of the country.

The Hmong Hill Tribe has been producing fabrics and clothing from hemp for generations gaining themselves a reputation for stunning artisanal fabrics.

Settled along the North of Thailand around the Golden Triangle, the Hmong tribe has worked hard to avoid conflict, despite the dubious CIA interference in local affairs in Laos during the Vietnam War.

For us it was incredibly exciting to learn how these communities traditionally harvest and cultivate such an innovative plant. Being involved in such a process and creating the bonds we have between unexpected friends has been the most rewarding part of our fashion journey.

When you buy hemp clothing from virblatt, you know that it has been grown naturally and without fertilizers or pesticides. What’s more, our hemp is spun by hand according to ancient customs with a wooden loom.

Follow us on our socials and let us take you on an incredible journey where you can see what's going on in our hemp field.
